Este Haim Marries Jonathan Levin in New Year’s Eve Ceremony

Este Haim and Jonathan Levin are married. The bassist of sister trio Haim and the tech entrepreneur tied the knot in California on New Year’s Eve (Dec. 31) in a wedding celebration with family and friends — a day Este’s “been looking forward to since I was five,” she tells Vogue, who documented her final dress fitting at Louis Vuitton ahead of her wedding day.

Among those in attendance for the bride and groom’s big day were Taylor Swift and Stevie Nicks, spotted together in photos captured by paparazzi from a distance (and later published by People).

Swift — wearing a formal, gold-sequinned gown fit for a New Year’s Eve gala — is a longtime, close friend of Este, Danielle and Alana Haim. They’ve also collaborated musically on “No Body, No Crime” (from Swift’s Evermore; Este’s even a main character in the song) and “Gasoline” (from the expanded edition of Haim’s Women in Music, Pt. III). Swift’s fiancé, Travis Kelce, was not seen in images from the wedding.

Haim has also recorded with Nicks — but their collab is yet to be heard. “We can’t say much, but what we can say is that Stevie Nicks is the greatest human being on this planet, Alana said earlier this year, with Danielle teasing, “And the song is really good.” And to bring things full circle for this crowd: Nicks, whose name is featured in the lyrics of Swift’s song “Clara Bow,” penned a poem featured on the album art of The Tortured Poets Department.

Este seemed giddy about her wedding in a video filmed by Vogue, admitting she’s imagined what the day would be like since childhood.

“When I was five, I had this vision of me coming down a spiral staircase. Like there’s a scene in Cinderella that probably is what I’m kind of mimicking. I would come down in this giant ballroom gown, descending down, and then my fiancé, husband, would be at the bottom [and] grab my hand,” she shared.

Este’s romantic wedding dress was designed by her friend Nicolas Ghesquière, women’s creative director at Louis Vuitton. She also had two alternate designs created to wear at the reception and after-party.

Though Haim publicly announced her engagement to Levin in February with a cheeky Instagram post revealing she was “TAKEN,” her beau had proposed on Dec. 22, 2024 — and the mid-hike proposal took the bride-to-be by surprise. “I had Mario Badescu acne medication on, my hair was in a top knot, I had no makeup on, I was in sweats and sneakers,” she said, recalling that she screamed in excitement and got some fellow hikers to take their picture.

As the Haim sisters point out in their video for Vogue, Este’s the first of the three to marry.

Haim’s latest studio album, I Quit, was released in July and reached No. 2 on the Top Rock Albums chart, No. 3 on Top Alternative Albums and No. 25 on the all-genre Billboard 200.
