New York metal vets Life of Agony turned heads by including a cover of ’80s Breakfast Club soundtrack staple “Don’t You (Forget About Me)” on their 1995 album Ugly, but had never played the Simple Minds-popularized song live until last year. Below, SPIN premieres an in-concert clip of “Don’t You” recorded in Europe and directed by longtime collaborator Leigh Brooks.
“Growing up with The Breakfast Club, its themes of isolation and feeling misunderstood really hit home,” Life of Agony bassist Alan Robert tells SPIN. “The song is inseparable from that film — it captured the ache for connection so honestly. Reimagining it let us tap into that same vulnerability in our own way.”

Adds guitarist Joey Zampella, “getting to perform this song every night on the Ugly tour last year, was magnificent. It was definitely a highlight in the set.”
