Joana Serrat, Chris Eckman and Tenderness to play Club Uncut

Long-standing readers will likely remember Club Uncut from its initial incarnation back in the early ’00s, where we hosted early UK shows from artists like The War On Drugs, Courtney Barnett, White Denim, Phosphorescent, Kurt Vile, Joan As Policewoman, Deer Tick among many others.

Now Club Uncut returns with the same mission at its core: to bring you intimate shows, carefully curated line-ups and close encounters with our favourite new discoveries and artists you love.

The first official show for the reactivated Club Uncut takes place on Friday, April 17 at The Blue Basement in Third Man Records London store at 1 Marshall St, Carnaby, London W1F 9BA.

And it’s a terrific line-up…

Tenderness
We open with the solo project of Peggy Sue’s Katy Beth Young, who brings to Club Uncut the songs from emotionally rich, country‑flecked debut True, which earned a 9/10 review in our March issue.

Chris Eckman
The former Walkabouts frontman will perform a solo set of haunting, slow‑burn songs, including highlights from The Land We Knew The Best, a former Uncut Album of the Month.

Joana Serrat
Joined by her full band, Catalan songwriter Joana Serrat headlines our bill, showcasing new material alongside the shape‑shifting power of 2024’s Big Wave — a stunning album we hailed for its dramatic change in tone.
