Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band are returning to the road this spring for the Land of Hope and Dreams American Tour, which will begin March 31 in Minneapolis. The Boss recently released a new protest song, “Streets of Minneapolis,” decrying violence at the hands of federal immigration officers that left two people dead in the city. He also made a surprise appearance at a Tom Morello-led rally in Minneapolis late last month.

“We are living through dark, disturbing and dangerous times, but do not despair — the cavalry is coming! Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will be taking the stage this spring from Minneapolis to California to Texas to Washington, D.C. for the Land of Hope And Dreams American Tour,” Springsteen said on social media. “We will be rocking your town in celebration and in defense of America — American democracy, American freedom, our American Constitution and our sacred American dream — all of which are under attack by our wannabe king and his rogue government in Washington, D.C. Everyone, regardless of where you stand or what you believe in, is welcome — so come on out and join the United Free Republic of E Street Nation for an American spring of rock’n’rebellion! I’ll see you there.”

In Springsteen’s most full-throated rebuke yet of the Donald Trump administration, “Streets of Minneapolis” finds him blasting the “federal thugs” who killed protestors Alex Pretti and Renee Good and vowing, “we’ll remember the names of those who died on the streets of Minneapolis.” “Citizens stood for justice / Their voices ringing through the night,” the 76-year-old rock legend sings. “And there were bloody footprints / Where mercy should have stood / And two dead left to die on snow-filled streets / Alex Pretti and Renee Good.”
