Hear Arctic Monkeys’ new song, “Opening Night”

Arctic Monkeys have today released “Opening Night”, their first new song in four years, in aid of the War Child charity. Listen below:

The song is taken from HELP(2), the sequel to War Child’s 1995 album which featured songs recorded in a single day by the likes of Radiohead, Blur and The Smokin’ Mojo Filters (AKA Paul McCartney, Paul Weller, Noel Gallagher, et al).

HELP(2) boasts a similarly stellar line-up: alongside the Arctic Monkeys, the likes of Beth Gibbons, Pulp, Depeche Mode, Fontaines DC, Damon Albarn and Graham Coxon, Cameron Winter, Wet Leg, Johnny Marr and Big Thief have all donated new tunes to the album, which will be released on March 6.

The album also includes Arooj Aftab and Beck covering Jeff Buckley’s “Lilac Wine” and Fontaines DC covering of Sinead O’Connor’s beautiful “Black Boys On Mopeds”.

Most of the tracks on HELP(2) were recording during one week in November at Abbey Road studios by producer James Ford. Watch a trailer below and pre-order the LP here.
