
Morrissey and the Smashing Pumpkins will anchor the 2026 installment of the Darker Waves festival, which will bring nearly 40 artists to Huntington Beach City Beach in California on Nov. 14.
Morrissey has rarely played stateside festivals amid a spotty track record of canceling or postponing some 200 headlining appearances in the past decade-plus. The former Smiths frontman released his first new album in six years, Make-Up Is a Lie, in February.

In contrast, Smashing Pumpkins were recently announced as one of the top names on the hometown bill at Lollapalooza Chicago, which Billy Corgan and company haven’t visited since 1994.
Darker Waves will be rounded out by sets from Simple Minds, Bad Religion, Adam Ant, the Psychedelic Furs, Soft Cell, the Damned, Manic Street Preachers, Gary Numan, Silversun Pickups, Buzzcocks, EMF, Circle Jerks, Spacehog, Marky Ramone and reunited Smiths soundalikes Gene. Tickets go on sale Thursday (April 2).
