The Head & the Heart will celebrate the 15th anniversary of its self-titled Sub Pop debut with an expanded, remastered edition, due for release on May 1. Last night (March 3), the Head & the Heart also nodded back to the past with a performance of “Rivers and Roads” on Jimmy Kimmel Live!

More from Spin:

“Fifteen years ago, we were traveling with burned CDs and cut up old blue jeans, stamped with ‘The Head and the Heart to put the copies in,” drummer Tyler Williams recalls of the band’s early days. “We had no expectations and a full tank of gas. We had songs and we had each other. Our roots had grown and we were about to begin a wild journey.”

He describes the “Lost in My Mind” demo as “loose, imperfect and honest in a way that only first attempts can be. We’re so excited to dust it off and present it to you today. Listening back to it, we’re transported to that apartment, when all that existed was belief in our songs and each other.”

Having just wrapped a stint opening for Brandi Carlile in arenas, the Head & the Heart will begin a short North American tour May 1 in Nashville. The band will perform the self-titled debut in its entirety at each show.
