The Style Council’s 1984 debut album Café Bleu will be reissued as a 3-LP or 6-CD by Universal Music Recordings on January 30.
Highlights from the collection include an early demo of “Long Hot Summer” (Aug 1982), an extended version of “The Paris Match” and early variant “Summertime Song”, and unreleased instrumental gems from Mick Talbot including a jazzier “Party Chambers”.
The CD box set includes live recordings from Chippenham’s Goldiggers and London’s Dominion Theatre, as well as 1983 BBC Radio One sessions for David Jensen and Saturday Live.
