Limited to just 50 hand-built units worldwide, the Trust a Thief – Eric Hilton Signature Series is a purpose-built analog, discrete rotary mixer / hi-fi preamplifier, designed from the ground up around Hilton’s personal approach to listening, mixing, and flow. This is not a reinterpretation of an existing product—it is a deeply considered instrument shaped by decades of musical practice.
Each mixer is individually assembled and calibrated in Berlin to Hilton’s exact sonic and aesthetic standards. The enclosure is crafted from solid mahogany, a conscious nod to the Golden Age of Hi-Fi, when materials mattered and sound was treated as craft rather than commodity. A silver matte anodized aluminum faceplate brings balance and quiet confidence, allowing form and function to speak without excess.
Internally, audiophile-grade capacitors are selected for warmth, depth, and signal integrity, preserving the nuance and musicality essential to rotary mixing. Four round analogue VU meters provide immediate visual feedback while reinforcing a classic studio sensibility. Urei-style knobs offer smooth, deliberate resistance—designed for long sessions, subtle transitions, and hands-on control.
Each unit is accompanied by a hand-signed, individually numbered certificate of authenticity, personally signed by Eric Hilton, confirming its place within this ultra-limited edition. The mixer ships in a custom “Trust a Thief” protective travel case and is supported by a 4-year international warranty.
