Few artists have carved out a lane as distinct and enduring as Tipper. Now, the iconic producer has announced his final shows before his retirement at Orion Amphitheater and Red Rocks.
Emerging from the underground in the mid-90s, Tipper didn’t just ride the wave of ambient and breakbeat sounds: he pioneered a completely distinct direction. His music defies categorization, fusing vinyl-scratching wizardry with glitchy, textured soundscapes. From his energizing uptempo sets to thought-provoking ambient performances, Tipper has left an impressive legacy on the electronic music scene.
His impact stretches far beyond the music itself. Through the Tipper & Friends event series, he has fostered a fiercely loyal and connected fanbase that values intention, visual artistry, and the kind of sonic exploration that doesn’t fit neatly on a lineup. For many, Tipper events represent so much more than just music: they are completely transformative experiences.
Tipper’s retirement arrives after years of health issues that “changed his day to day in significant ways,” his team wrote in 2022. The enigmatic artist officially announced his retirement plans last year and has since performed at a slew of festivals, including Lightning in a Bottle, Shambhala, Hulaween, and many more, in addition to his own curated events. Next week, he will perform at Secret Dreams at Ohio’s Legend Valley.
The final two events before Tipper’s retirement will take place in Alabama over Labor Day weekend and in Colorado in September. Pre-sale tickets will be made available to his mailing list soon.
