\n\tWhile the British prime minister<\/a>, PepsiCo<\/a> and David Schwimmer<\/a>, among others, are publicly denouncing the artist formerly known as Kanye West, Aubrey O\u2019Day<\/a> has other plans.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn a series of posts and replies to other users on X, the former Danity Kane member is defending her decision to attend both of Ye\u2019s sold-out comeback shows<\/a> at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, last week. O\u2019Day was first called out for going to the shows after an X user reposted a video<\/a> of the singer talking about seeing Ye for the second night in a row and asked why she didn\u2019t talk about going to the concerts on X.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cNow why wouldn\u2019t you share with Twitter that you went to see Kanye 2 nights in a row??\u201d the user posted, tagging O\u2019Day. \u201cAll that hootin and hollerin about Diddy\u2019s abuse, but you fail to keep that same energy with Kanye.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tO\u2019Day has spoken out against Didd<\/a>y for years. Danity Kane was formed on Diddy\u2019s series Making the Band<\/em> and signed to his label Bad Boy Records. O\u2019Day was kicked out of the group in 2008, and in an appearance on Call Her Daddy<\/a><\/em>, she alleged that the falling out happened because she refused to comply with non-musical requests from the rapper. In the years since, O\u2019Day has continued to speak out against Diddy, including in the recent Netflix documentary Sean Combs: The Reckoning<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\n\tTo X users, O\u2019Day\u2019s support of Ye stands in direct opposition to her outspokenness against Diddy. The original X post<\/a> ended by calling the singer a \u201cf\u2014ing hypocrite.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tRather than ignoring the post, O\u2019Day replied with a defense of her decision to see Ye.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI can hold two truths at once,\u201d she starts before saying that she\u2019s lived through and does not excuse abuse. She then says that she does not believe that \u201cengaging with someone\u2019s art\u201d is the same as \u201c[co-signing] every opinion or action they\u2019ve ever had.\u201d O\u2019Day says that if this were the case, many people in the entertainment industry would not have careers and that there is more \u201cnuance\u201d to these situations. \u201cIf supporting art required endorsing every belief of the artist, none of us would have careers, or playlists.\u201d<\/p>\n
