{"id":10442,"date":"2026-04-22T19:19:32","date_gmt":"2026-04-22T19:19:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/musictechohio.online\/site\/ice-facial-surveillance-glasses\/"},"modified":"2026-04-22T19:19:32","modified_gmt":"2026-04-22T19:19:32","slug":"ice-facial-surveillance-glasses","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/musictechohio.online\/site\/ice-facial-surveillance-glasses\/","title":{"rendered":"Leak Shows ICE Planning to Use Facial Recognition Glasses to Identify Targets in Real Time"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph skip\">Immigration and Customs Enforcement bureaucrats are reportedly planning to use specialty facial recognition glasses to collect data on Americans in real time, independent journalist <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kenklippenstein.com\/p\/exclusive-ice-glasses\">Ken Klippenstein revealed<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph skip\">Financial statements viewed by Klippenstein point to the development of a facial recognition platform modeled after commercially available AI smart glasses, like <a href=\"https:\/\/futurism.com\/artificial-intelligence\/coalition-rights-meta-glasses-facial-recognition\">Meta\u2019s widely-panned<\/a> \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/futurism.com\/future-society\/meta-ray-ban-smart-pervert-glasses\">pervert glasses<\/a>.\u201d ICE\u2019s in-house model, it seems, will allow agents to monitor video and reference vast federal databases of biometric information on subjects regardless of if they\u2019ve been arrested, or even charged with a crime.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph skip\">\u201cThe project will deliver innovative hardware, such as operational prototypes of smart glasses, to equip agents with real-time access to information and biometric identification capabilities in the field,\u201d read an ICE budget document leaked to Klippenstein.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph skip\">Perhaps most alarmingly, Department of Homeland Security insiders told the investigative journalist that the technology involved isn\u2019t limited to immigration enforcement. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph skip\">\u201cIt might be portrayed as seeking to identify illegal aliens on the streets,\u201d one anonymous DHS attorney told Klippenstein, \u201cbut the reality is that a push in this direction affects all Americans, particularly protestors.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph skip\">That reveal comes just a few months after an incident in Maine in which an ICE agent admitted to <a href=\"https:\/\/futurism.com\/artificial-intelligence\/ice-database-facial-scan\">scanning protestors\u2019 faces<\/a> with his phone. \u201cWe have a nice little database, and now you\u2019re considered domestic terrorists,\u201d the agent tells a couple who were out documenting the immigration agents in their community.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph skip\">In October, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.404media.co\/ice-and-cbp-agents-are-scanning-peoples-faces-on-the-street-to-verify-citizenship\/\"><em>404 Media<\/em> reported<\/a> that ICE agents were scanning peoples\u2019 faces in order to check whether they were citizens. These targets for surveillance are often <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/us-news\/2026\/mar\/13\/ice-agent-court-testimony-oregon\">chosen at random<\/a> \u2014 we now know that many of ICE\u2019s arrests over the past year <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nilc.org\/articles\/ice-is-detaining-indiscriminately-and-releasing-almost-no-one\/\">have been circumstantial<\/a>, a far cry from the targeted enforcement of known criminals the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/national-security\/promise-remove-worst-worst-ice-arrested-only-6-known-immigrant-murdere-rcna214817\">Trump administration promised<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph skip\">Taken together, what began as surveillance infrastructure marketed for catching illegal immigrants now seems to be coming for residents as well.
