{"id":10497,"date":"2026-04-24T17:03:26","date_gmt":"2026-04-24T17:03:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/musictechohio.online\/site\/palantirs-employees-crisis\/"},"modified":"2026-04-24T17:03:26","modified_gmt":"2026-04-24T17:03:26","slug":"palantirs-employees-crisis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/musictechohio.online\/site\/palantirs-employees-crisis\/","title":{"rendered":"Palantir\u2019s Employees Are in Crisis"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph skip\">The military and intelligence contractor Palantir has been embroiled in nonstop controversy during Trump\u2019s second term.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph skip\">It\u2019s been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aclu.org\/news\/privacy-technology\/palantir-deportation-roundup\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">directly involved<\/a> in the administration\u2019s crackdown on undocumented immigrants, an effort that\u2019s been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2026\/04\/17\/nx-s1-5789092\/deaths-of-migrants-in-ice-custody-hit-record-high-under-trump\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">implicated in numerous deaths<\/a>. The company has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/news\/world\/americas\/us-politics\/iran-girls-school-us-military-investigation-b2933564.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">even been linked<\/a> to US airstrikes that <a href=\"https:\/\/futurism.com\/artificial-intelligence\/us-military-ai-bombing-elementary-school-iran\">leveled a school in Iran<\/a>, killing over 120 schoolchildren.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph skip\">Last week, the Peter Thiel-cofounded company poured fuel on the fire with a <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/palantirtech\/status\/2045574398573453312\" rel=\"nofollow\">22-point summary<\/a> of CEO Alex Karp\u2019s 2025 book \u201cThe Technological Republic: Hard Power, Soft Belief, and the Future of the West,\u201d an ominous corporate manifesto that <a href=\"https:\/\/futurism.com\/artificial-intelligence\/palantir-corporate-manifesto\">critics called<\/a> a \u201chideous ideology\u201d and \u201cexample of technofascism.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph skip\">Now, Palantir\u2019s seemingly endless run of bad press has current and former employees shaken, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wired.com\/story\/palantir-employees-are-starting-to-wonder-if-theyre-the-bad-guys\/\"><em>Wired<\/em> reports<\/a>, with some starting to wonder whether \u201cthey\u2019re the bad guys.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph skip\">\u201cI think there\u2019s a bit of an identity crisis and a bit of a challenge,\u201d one former employee told the magazine. \u201cWe were supposed to be the ones who were preventing a lot of these abuses. Now we\u2019re not preventing them. We seem to be enabling them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph skip\">While Palantir prides itself \u201con a culture of fierce internal dialogue and even disagreement over the complex areas we work on,\u201d as a spokesperson told <em>Wired<\/em>, workers and alumni are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2025\/05\/05\/nx-s1-5387514\/palantir-workers-letter-trump\">required to sign<\/a> non-disparagement agreements and forbidden to speak to the press.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph skip\">Meanwhile, employees have vented in internal Slack threads, voicing their growing concerns over Palantir and ICE\u2019s relationship, especially after the shooting death of numerous protesters. Palantir started auto-deleting conversations in at least one Slack channel after seven days, per <em>Wired<\/em>, raising even more questions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph skip\">Palantir maintains that its ICE contract allows the firm to make a \u201cdifference in mitigating risks while enabling targeted outcomes,\u201d according to an internal blog post.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph skip\">Following the deadly strike on the Iranian school, one employee asked in a Slack channel if \u201cwere we involved,\u201d and whether the company is \u201cdoing anything to stop a repeat,\u201d as quoted by <em>Wired<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph skip\">And the company\u2019s most recent manifesto summarizing Karp\u2019s book drew yet another heated reaction internally.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph skip\">\u201cI\u2019m curious why this had to be posted,\u201d one frustrated employee wrote in a Slack thread viewed by <em>Wired<\/em>. \u201cEspecially on the company account.
