{"id":10643,"date":"2026-04-30T13:57:41","date_gmt":"2026-04-30T13:57:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/musictechohio.online\/site\/mark-zuckerberg-shot-down-by-china\/"},"modified":"2026-04-30T13:57:41","modified_gmt":"2026-04-30T13:57:41","slug":"mark-zuckerberg-shot-down-by-china","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/musictechohio.online\/site\/mark-zuckerberg-shot-down-by-china\/","title":{"rendered":"Mark Zuckerberg Just Got Shot Down by China, Again"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph skip\">It seems like only yesterday that Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg was <a href=\"https:\/\/foreignpolicy.com\/2014\/10\/22\/mark-zuckerberg-speaks-mandarin-like-a-seven-year-old\/\">learning Mandarin<\/a> while <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/news\/worldviews\/wp\/2014\/12\/08\/why-does-mark-zuckerberg-want-facebook-employees-to-read-the-chinese-presidents-book\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">pushing staffers<\/a> to read Xi Jinping\u2019s tome \u201cThe Governance of China\u201d \u2014 all in a <a href=\"https:\/\/mashable.com\/article\/facebook-censor-china\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">failed bid to get Facebook inside<\/a> the country\u2019s Great Firewall, of course.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph skip\">Yet for all the love the Meta CEO has given the People\u2019s Republic, China just doesn\u2019t seem to love him back. PRC regulators have held firm in denying Facebook access to Chinese consumers despite <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buzzfeednews.com\/article\/ryanmac\/facebook-backing-away-china-mark-zuckerberg-privacy\">Zuckerberg\u2019s best efforts<\/a>, and President Xi even once <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/news\/people\/china-s-president-xi-jinping-turns-down-mark-zuckerberg-s-request-to-name-his-unborn-child-at-white-house-dinner-a6679156.html\">declined to name<\/a> the Meta CEO\u2019s newborn baby.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph skip\">Zuckerberg\u2019s latest rebuff came at a cost: $2 billion to be exact. Earlier this week, regulatory authorities in Beijing moved to block Meta\u2019s acquisition of the Chinese-linked AI startup Manus, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2026\/04\/27\/meta-manus-china-blocks-acquisition-ai-startup.html\"><em>CNBC<\/em> reported<\/a>.
