Foo Fighters have parted ways with drummer Josh Freese, who has filled that role since 2023 in the wake of band member Taylor Hawkins\u2019 sudden death in March 2022. Freese revealed the surprising news in a social media post<\/a>, which Foo Fighters themselves have yet to address in any form. A band spokesperson also declined comment.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Foo Fighters called me Monday night to let me know they\u2019ve decided \u2018to go in a different direction with their drummer.\u2019 No reason was given,\u201d Freese wrote. \u201cRegardless, I enjoyed the past two years with them, both on and off stage, and I support whatever they feel is best for the band. In my 40 years of drumming professionally, I\u2019ve never been let go from a band, so while I\u2019m not angry \u2014 just a bit shocked and disappointed. But as most of you know I\u2019ve always worked freelance and bounced between bands, so I\u2019m fine.
