In a revised clip <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/javilopen\/status\/1925495026903380358\">shared by AI content creator Javi Lopez<\/a>, a far more recognizable Smith can be seen indulging in a tasty-looking plate of noodles.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, the clip \u2014 which was rendered using Google DeepMind&#8217;s just-debuted Veo 3 video generation model \u2014 includes AI-generated sound as well, exposing us to a horrid soundtrack of squelching and masticating, the equivalent of nails on a chalkboard for those suffering from misophonia.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I don&#8217;t feel so good,&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/MKBHD\/status\/1925547803834536266\">quipped<\/a>\u00a0tech YouTuber Marques &#8220;MKBHD&#8221; Brownlee.<\/p>\n<p>Nonetheless, it&#8217;s an impressive tech demo, highlighting how models like Veo 3 are getting eerily close to being able to generate photorealistic video \u2014 including believable sound and dialogue.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Just got access to Veo 3 and the first thing I did was try the Will Smith spaghetti test. SOUND ON <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/y0CiZwNxgM\">pic.twitter.com\/y0CiZwNxgM<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Javi Lopez <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s.w.org\/images\/core\/emoji\/15.0.3\/72x72\/26e9.png\" alt=\"\u26e9\" class=\"wp-smiley\" style=\"height: 1em; max-height: 1em;\"> (@javilopen) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/javilopen\/status\/1925495026903380358?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 22, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Google unveiled its &#8220;state-of-the-art&#8221; Veo 3 model earlier this week at its Google I\/O 2025 developer conference.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;For the first time, we\u2019re emerging from the silent era of video generation,\u201d said DeepMind CEO Demis Hassabis during the event.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond generating photorealistic footage, the feature allows users to &#8220;suggest dialogue with a description of how you want it to sound,&#8221; according to Hassabis.<\/p>\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=x_x-JAAKSvU\">video sequence<\/a> opening Google&#8217;s I\/O, which was generated with the tool, shows zoo animals taking over a Wild West town.<\/p>\n<p>Getting access to the model doesn&#8217;t come cheap, with the feature <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2025\/05\/20\/google-ai-ultra-youll-have-to-pay-249-99-per-month-for-googles-best-ai\/\">currently locked<\/a> behind Google&#8217;s $249.99-per-month AI Ultra plan.<\/p>\n<p>Sample videos circulating on social media are strikingly difficult to differentiate from real life. And the jury&#8217;s still out on whether that&#8217;s a good or a bad thing.
