\n\tSabrina Carpenter<\/a>\u2018s new song \u201cManchild\u201d is here, kicking off what could very well be another summer of dominance for the pop star.<\/p>\n

\n\tFollowing the success of hits such as \u201cEspresso,\u201d \u201cPlease Please Please\u201d and \u201cTaste\u201d on the charts last year, the pop star returned Thursday night (June 5) with a track that pokes fun at an incapable male partner. Carpenter first teased \u201cManchild\u201d a couple of days prior to its release, posting roadside billboards along Interstate 69 that read \u201cHey men!\u201d and \u201cI swear they choose me, I\u2019m not choosing them.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThis one\u2019s about you!!\u201d the Grammy winner wrote pointedly on Instagram as she officially announced the song Tuesday.<\/p>\n

\n\tCarpenter revealed that \u201cManchild\u201d will be accompanied by a music video dropping Friday at 10 a.m. ET. In a teaser<\/a>, the musician abruptly falls out of a moving car as it barrels down a dusty road, seemingly pushed out of the vehicle by its male driver. \u201cSTUPID, SLOW, USELESS \u2014 BUT THERE\u2019S A CUTER WORD FOR IT, I KNOW,\u201d reads fine print at the bottom of the frame.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cManchild\u201d marks Carpenter\u2019s first new music since \u201c15 Minutes,\u201d \u201cCouldn\u2019t Make It Any Harder,\u201d \u201cBusy Woman\u201d and \u201cBad Reviews\u201d dropped in February as bonus songs on her Short n\u2019 Sweet <\/em>deluxe album. The original LP dropped last August at the high point of a breakthrough summer for the star, spending four weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tCarpenter has since been touring in support of the album, kicking off her Short n\u2019 Sweet arena tour in September with a North American leg. This spring, she traveled across Europe on a run of dates that will pick back up with two performances at London\u2019s Hyde Park in July.<\/p>\n
