\n\tIn a poll published Friday (June 6) on Billboard<\/a><\/em>, music fans chose the superstar singer\u2019s latest single as their favorite new release of the week.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe confident, percussion-heavy track pulled in nearly 70% of the vote, outpacing new music from Sabrina Carpenter<\/a> (\u201cManchild\u201d), Ed Sheeran<\/a> (\u201cSapphire\u201d), KATSEYE<\/a> featuring Ice Spice<\/a> (\u201cGnarly\u201d remix), Addison Rae<\/a> (Addison<\/em>) and Lil Wayne<\/a> (Tha Carter VI<\/em>).<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cType Dangerous\u201d marks Mimi\u2019s first proper single<\/a> in years, and it arrives with all the signature flair Lambs have come to expect. \u201cLooking for the dangerous type,\u201d Carey croons. \u201cI like them dangerous\/ That\u2019s my type\/ I said I love them dangerous.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe five-time Grammy winner last released an album in 2018 with Caution<\/em>, which reached at No. 5 on the Billboard 200. In the days leading up to the new single\u2019s release, Carey teased fans on social media<\/a> with a glamorous clip of herself in a luxury car, soundtracked by a mystery song. The video also showed a license plate reading \u201cMC16\u201d \u2014 a possible hint at her 16th studio album.<\/p>\n

\n\tSince Caution<\/em>, Carey has kept busy with annual \u201cAll I Want for Christmas Is You\u201d celebrations, as well as anniversary reissues of her most iconic work. Most recently, she marked the 20th anniversary of The Emancipation of Mimi<\/em> with an expanded two-disc set<\/a> featuring remixes, bonus tracks and a cappella versions.<\/p>\n

\n\tComing in second in the poll was Carpenter\u2019s \u201cManchild,\u201d which earned 19% of the vote. The track is her first new release since the deluxe edition of Short n\u2019 Sweet<\/em> dropped in February.<\/p>\n
