The Boss is portrayed by\u00a0<em>The Bear<\/em>\u00a0star Jeremy Allen White in a movie directed by\u00a0<em>Crazy Heart<\/em>\u2018s Scott Cooper and based on Warren Zanes\u2019 book of the same name. It will be released Oct. 24 by 20th Century Studios.<\/p>\n<p><em>Succession<\/em>\u2018s Jeremy Strong plays longtime Springsteen manager Jon Landau, while Paul Walter Hauser portrays guitar tech Mike Batlan, Sir Stephen Graham stars as Springsteen\u2019s father Dutch and Marc Maron appears as producer Chuck Plotkin.<\/p>\n<p>More from Spin:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.spin.com\/2025\/06\/the-character-assasination-of-mo-troper\/\">THE CHARACTER ASSASINATION OF MO TROPER<\/a>\n\t\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.spin.com\/2025\/06\/on-once-upon-a-time-in-shropshire-jerskin-fendrix-explores-everything-everywhere-all-at-once\/\">On \u2018Once Upon A Time\u2026In Shropshire\u2019 Jerskin Fendrix Explores Everything, Everywhere, All at Once<\/a>\n\t\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.spin.com\/2025\/06\/death-pill-interview\/\">Even War Can\u2019t Stop Ukrainian Power Trio Death Pill<\/a>\n\t\t<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>While plotting out the ambitious, full-band\u00a0<em>Born in the U.S.A.<\/em>, Springsteen holed up in Colts Neck, N.J., with a four-track to cut some demos and decided to leave 10 of them untouched to comprise a separate, stark acoustic album. \u201cRobert De Niro said once that what he likes about acting is that he gets to step into other people\u2019s shoes without the real-life consequences,\u201d Springsteen\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.spin.com\/featured\/win-butler-and-bruce-springsteens-2007-cover-story-on-the-early-days-the-glory-days-and-the-end-of-days\/\">told SPIN in 2007<\/a>\u00a0by way of reflecting on his headspace at the time. \u201cArt does allow you to do that, to go right up to the abyss and look in, hopefully without falling in.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This mentality is on display throughout the trailer, as Springsteen wrestles with how to retain his artistic integrity and heal childhood-era psychological wounds amid the increasing glare of post-<em>The River<\/em> stardom. \u201cI\u2019m trying to find something real in all the noise,\u201d he tells Landau in the trailer, which is set to a portion of <em>Nebraska<\/em>\u2018s title track. \u201cYou always do,\u201d Landau replies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMaking\u00a0<em>Springsteen<\/em>\u00a0was deeply moving, as it allowed me to step inside the soul of an artist I\u2019ve long admired \u2014 and to witness, up close, the vulnerability and strength behind his music,\u201d said Cooper. \u201cThe experience felt like a journey through memory, myth and truth. And more than anything, it was a privilege to translate that raw emotional honesty to the screen, and in doing so, it changed me.
