A total of two songwriters and one songwriter\/artist will be elected in the contemporary categories by members of the Hall of Fame, along with other professional songwriters and artists who are prominently associated with Nashville, or who have written\/co-written at least one original and significant Nashville song. Three additional songwriters will also be named to the Class of 2025, as a separate body of veteran voters will elect a veteran songwriter, veteran songwriter\/artist and legacy songwriter (honoring a deceased songwriter), each of whom have earned their first significant songs at least three decades ago (nominees in these categories are not announced).<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tBogard is known for writing songs including Marty Robbins\u2019 \u201cTouch Me With Magic,\u201d George Strait\u2019s \u201cCarrying Your Love With Me,\u201d Rascal Flatts\u2019 \u201cPrayin\u2019 For Daylight\u201d and Dierks Bentley\u2019s \u201cLong Trip Alone\u201d and \u201cEvery Mile a Memory.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tCamp\u2019s writing catalog includes Brooks &amp; Dunn\u2019s \u201cHow Long Gone,\u201d Garth Brooks\u2019s \u201cTwo Pina Coladas,\u201d Josh Turner\u2019s \u201cWould You Go With Me\u201d and \u201cFirecracker,\u201d Blake Shelton\u2019s \u201cNobody But Me,\u201d Strait\u2019s \u201cRiver of Love,\u201d the Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder bluegrass hit \u201cSis Draper,\u201d Billy Strings\u2019s \u201cDon\u2019t Be Calling Me (at 4 AM),\u201d and Willie Nelson\u2019s \u201cA Beautiful Time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tHenry\u2019s writing credits include \u201cClass Reunion\u201d (recorded by artists including John Conlee, The Oak Ridge Boys and Ray Charles), \u201cBlue Highway\u201d (T.G. Sheppard and Conlee), \u201cAll Kinds of Kinds\u201d (Miranda Lambert) and the Grammy\/CMA\/ACM award winner \u201cWhere\u2019ve You Been\u201d (Kathy Mattea).<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tKennedy is known as a writer on songs including the Grammy-winning \u201cChange The World\u201d (recorded by Wynonna and then by Eric Clapton). Kennedy also has more than a dozen songs recorded by Garth Brooks, including \u201cYou Move Me\u201d and \u201cLove Will Always Win\u201d (with Trisha Yearwood), as well as songs recorded by Ricky Skaggs (\u201cReturn to Sender\u201d) and Bonnie Raitt (\u201cI Can\u2019t Help You Now\u201d). Gordon also co-wrote songs with his frequent writing collaborator Peter Frampton on songs for Frampton\u2019s 2007 album <em>Fingerprints<\/em>. Mayo was named BMI\u2019s 2001 Country Songwriter of the Year. Other songs she\u2019s contributed writing to are the Faith Hill\/Tim McGraw classic \u201cLet\u2019s Make Love,\u201d Martina McBride\u2019s \u201cThis One\u2019s For The Girls,\u201d and Kenny Chesney\u2019s \u201cBar at the End of the World\u201d and \u201cWho You\u2019d Be Today.\u201d Mayo is author of the memoir <em>Talking to the Sky<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tRushing is known for contributing writing to songs including Charley Pride\u2019s \u201cHope You\u2019re Feelin\u2019 Me (Like I\u2019m Feelin\u2019 You),\u201d Doyle Lawson &amp; Quicksilver\u2019s 1993 IBMA song of the year winner \u201cLittle Mountain Church House,\u201d Ricky Skaggs\u2019 \u201cCanjun Moon\u201d and \u201cThanks Again,\u201d  Garth Brooks\u2019 \u201cAmerican Honky-Tonk Bar Association,\u201d and the 1993 IBMA song of the year winner \u201cLonesome Standard Time,\u201d (also a hit for Kathy Mattea).<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tScott\u2019s catalog of hits includes songs recorded by Travis Tritt (\u201cIt\u2019s a Great Day to Be Alive\u201d), Sara Evans (\u201cBorn to Fly\u201d), The Chicks (\u201cLong Time Gone\u201d), Patty Loveless (\u201cYou\u2019ll Never Leave Harlan Alive\u201d), Darin &amp; Brooke Aldridge (\u201cCumberland Plateau\u201d), Blue Highway (\u201cBleeding For a Little Piece of Mind\u201d) and the Zac Brown Band\/Chris Cornell collaboration \u201cHeavy Is The Head.\u201d Scott was named the 2000-2001 NSAI songwriter of the year and the 2002 ASCAP country songwriter of the year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tIn the 1990s, Lauderdale saw his songs recorded by artists including Mark Chesnutt (\u201cGonna Get a Life\u201d), Patty Loveless (\u201cHalfway Down,\u201d as well as Loveless\u2019 George Jones collaboration \u201cYou Don\u2019t Seem to Miss Me\u201d), and the Strait-recorded hits \u201cWe Really Shouldn\u2019t Be Doing This\u201d and \u201cWhat Do You Say to That.\u201d In the Americana realm, Lauderdale has released 37 albums and won two Grammy accolades for bluegrass album of the year (for <em>Lost in the Lonesome Pines <\/em>and <em>The Bluegrass Diaries<\/em>), as well as earning bluegrass hits including \u201cMighty Lonesome\u201d and \u201cOne Blue Mule.\u201d Lauderdale was honored with the Americana Music Association\u2019s lifetime achievement award in 2016.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tWelch and Rawlings have shared a musical and songwriting partnership that goes back at least three decades. Since their debut project in 1996, the two have released songs in a variety of genres, including \u201cOrphan Girl,\u201d \u201cElvis Presley Blues\u201d and \u201c455 Rocket\u201d (which also became a hit for Mattea), and \u201cTear My Stillhouse Down\u201d (which became a bluegrass hit for The Nashville Bluegrass Band). Dailey &amp; Vincent recorded a version of \u201cBy The Mark,\u201d which was named the 2009 SPBGMA (Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of America) bluegrass song of the year. \u201cWhen A Cowboy Trades His Spurs For Wings\u201d was recorded by Tim Blake Nelson and Willie Nelson for the film <em>The Ballad of Buster Scruggs<\/em> and was nominated for an Oscar for best original song. Welch and Rawlings received the AMA\u2019s lifetime achievement award for songwriters in 2015.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tWilliams earned her breakthrough hit with \u201cChanged the Locks\u201d in 1988, which reached No. 16 on Billboard\u2019s Mainstream Rock chart and became a hit for Tom Petty nearly a decade later. Williams\u2019 \u201cPassionate Kisses\u201d also became a top 5 Country Airplay hit for Mary Chapin Carpenter in 1993, and earned Williams a Grammy for best country song. She also earned Americana Music Honors and Awards nominations for songs including \u201cAre You Alright?\u201d and \u201cEast Side of Town.\u201d She earned the 2011 Americana Music Honors &amp; Awards lifetime achievement award for songwriting and earned a BMI troubadour award in 2022. Williams was inducted into the Austin City Limits Hall of Fame in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Winans started out as part of the luminous gospel music group the Winans Family, before joining musical forces with her brother BeBe Winans to form a duo. Their song \u201cAddictive Love,\u201d co-written by CeCe, earned a GMA Dove Award for contemporary Gospel song of the year in 1992. In 1995, Winans launched her solo career. Her song \u201cHallelujah Praise\u201d won a 2004 GMA Dove Award for contemporary Gospel song of the year, while in 2009 she was nominated for a Dove Award for \u201cWaging War.\u201d In 2021, her song \u201cBelieve For It\u201d won a Grammy for best contemporary Christian performance\/song and the 2022 GMA Dove Award for song of the year.
