Each song latches onto a moment that left a mark and refuses to let go. “This EP is a collection of core memories, how they impacted me emotionally, how I learned to respond to them,” she explains. “It’s a testament to human emotion, and I am baring myself on my sleeves in order to connect with my listeners and fans in an intimate way.”

Led by the striking opener “Till It Breaks,” the project wastes no time establishing its emotional stakes. A bruised vocal cuts across jagged percussion and a grimy low-end, pushing the tension until it snaps. “It’s a reminder that if we push ourselves far enough, we do break,” Renee says. “‘How far can we bend this before it breaks?’ is a reflection towards my inner self…My dad sings in the background of this song and it’s the one that really resonates with me the deepest.”

That self-inquiry runs deep through the EP. On “Jaded,” Renee confronts the isolation that shadows ambition, pulling apart the frayed edges of new relationships left behind in pursuit of something bigger. “It’s being avoidant in new connections caused by my hyperfocus in my career,” she explains. “I shine light on the push and pull of how I feel navigating new connections.”

The mood evolves on “Reverie,” a swirling, slow-burning meditation on Renee’s journey through the music industry. There’s bite in the production, but the real sting comes from her lyrics, which blend defiance with weariness. “It is a response to everyone that has ever doubted me,” she says. “To myself whenever I feel like giving up…It is ugly, but it is a deep celestial light work.”

Co-produced with Skellytn, “Mirage” shines through with the presence of restraint. Focused and clear-eyed, it’s a sharp look at the ways trauma can shape instinct and how healing means learning to pause. “It’s about seeing through people and holding off on the emotional reactivity responses formed through trauma and life experience,” explains Renee.

The closing track, “Live Wire,” turns inward once again. This time, tracing the illusion of connection that often comes from unhealed attachment. The tone is stripped-back but direct, capturing a kind of tired clarity. “Sometimes when we haven’t healed,” Renee reflects, “we attach ourselves to people or things who bring us a temporary life force energy. The older I get, the more I realize how important it is to detach… Nothing in this universe is permanent.”

When reflecting on the entire EP, she adds, “Welcome to my brain. The noise & the thrill of it all is the wisdom I’ve gained.” Fans can witness her story live on her United States EP tour that kicks off this month and runs until late fall.

You can listen to NOISE & THE THRILL below and find the new release on streaming platforms here.

View the original article to see embedded media.

FOLLOW BELLA RENEE:

X: x.com/bellareneemusic
Instagram: instagram.com/bellareneemusic
TikTok: tiktok.com/@bellareneemusic
Facebook: facebook.com/bellareneemusic
Spotify: tinyurl.com/j2dnurem

Bella Renee delivers her most vulnerable work yet with NOISE & THE THRILL, a five-track drum & bass EP out now via Dim Mak that channels memory into motion.
