\n\tShortly after news broke that GELO<\/a> and Rashida Nicole were divorcing only six months after going public as a couple, the basketball player-turned-rapper sat down with Billboard News and addressed the Internet\u2019s reaction to the headlines.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWhen people conversate about my personal life, it don\u2019t touch me or bother me too much,\u201d GELO (real name: LiAngelo Ball) tells Billboard News. \u201cLike I see it, of course, because you know, everybody got a phone, but it don\u2019t rub me the wrong way or nothing because nobody really go [through] what I go through every day. You not me, for real. So it don\u2019t mean sh\u2013, for real.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe \u201cTweaker\u201d rapper says he only cares about what his friends and family have to say, not strangers online. \u201cI don\u2019t even know half the people saying anything,\u201d he tells Billboard<\/em>. \u201cAnd everybody I know rock with me. Sh\u2013, there it is. I be feeling good when I step out. Got love.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tBall and Nicole went public back in February, when the influencer and podcaster sat courtside for GELO\u2019s \u201cTweaker\u201d performance at the 2025 NBA All-Star Game. While TMZ<\/a> \u2014 who broke the divorce news on Wednesday \u2014 are unsure when Ball and Nicole were married, their cameras did catch the couple leaving a SoCal courthouse wearing all-white, also in February. The couple was last spotted out at June 9\u2019s BET Awards.<\/p>\n

\n\tLast month, Nicole revealed that she\u2019s expecting a baby \u2014 which would be the couple\u2019s first child together, but Nicole\u2019s second and Ball\u2019s third. \u201cWish I had all the right words to describe this journey, but I guess if I had to define it, all I can truly say is: I\u2019m grateful, terrified, anxious, nauseous, HANGRY \u2026 all of thee above,\u201d she wrote on Instagram<\/a> next to photos of her growing baby bump. \u201cAs a teen mom, I was always hesitant about going thru pregnancy and parenthood again. (Iykyk) I want to thank my daughter for being here for me during this process, always demonstrating unconditional LOVE & reassuring me that, \u2018Everything is alright!\u2019 And for now\u2026I choose to protect my peace and this beautiful energy.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tBall has two other children \u2014 LaVelo and LaNiyah \u2014 with his ex Nikki Mudarris.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn January, GELO signed with Def Jam and released his breakout rap smash \u201cTweaker,\u201d which became a top 40 hit on the Billboard Hot 100<\/a> (peaking at No. 29), topped the Rhythmic Airplay chart, and had a remix featuring Lil Wayne released on Feb. 7. His debut album, League of My Own<\/em>, is due July 18.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
