\n\tCiara <\/a>is preparing for the release of her anticipated CiCi <\/em>album, which arrives Aug. 22. Prior to the LP, the singer sat down for an exclusive Billboard Family<\/em><\/a> interview with her 8-year-old daughter Sienna.<\/p>\n

\n\tCiara and her bubbly daughter spoke at length about the forthcoming album, which has origins dating back to the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. \u201cIt\u2019s been a long time coming with this project, so I like to say it\u2019s a labor of love because I put a lot of time into it,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n

\n\tPutting it simply, Ciara says her personal life is what\u2019s inspired her the most heading into her eponymous album, which is her first LP since 2019\u2019s Beauty Marks<\/em>. \u201cIt\u2019s really an extra special gift for my fans,\u201d she added. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe next question drew a laugh out of Ciara when Sienna took it upon herself to answer if her mom should ever work with her husband, Russell Wilson, on music. \u201cNo, Dad is crazy,\u201d Sienna said. \u201cHis singing\u2019s a little off. Seriously, I\u2019m telling the truth.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tCiara tends to agree. \u201cI think it is best that Dad plays football and Mommy does music,\u201d she suggested. The Grammy-winning artist teased collabs with Latto <\/a>and Jazze Pha on CiCi<\/em>, which also boasts features from Lil Baby<\/a>, Busta Rhymes<\/a>, Big Freedia<\/a>, Bossman Dlow<\/a> and Chris Brown,<\/a> according to the Apple Music track list.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe 39-year-old highlighted some of her favorite collaborations from over the years of her decorated career, such as team-ups with Missy Elliott <\/a>(\u201cLose Control\u201d), Chris Brown (\u201cHow We Roll\u201d) and Ludacris <\/a>(\u201cOh\u201d). When it comes to specific moments, she hit on being proud to launch her own record label and winning a Grammy (best short form video for \u201cLose Control\u201d at the 2006 ceremony).<\/p>\n

\n\tCiara also wants to dabble in the Latin market in the future. \u201cI want to sing in Spanish,\u201d she admitted. \u201cLike work with an artist like Bad Bunny<\/a> would be super cool.\u201d<\/p>\n
