\n\tIn an interview on the Therapuss<\/a><\/em> podcast, released Wednesday (Aug. 6), Gomez told host Jake Shane that her favorite song from her time with the band is \u201cWho Says,\u201d the lead single from their final album, When the Sun Goes Down<\/em>. The track peaked at No. 21 on the Billboard Hot 100 in July 2011.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s the most powerful moment when I get to perform it,\u201d the Only Murders in the Building<\/em> actress said. \u201cThat\u2019s honestly the only reason I would ever do a tour again \u2026 is if I could perform \u2018Who Says.’\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tGomez, who hasn\u2019t toured since 2016, said she\u2019d need to \u201ctake it down an octave from each year I\u2019ve sang it\u201d if she were to perform it today. She\u2019s also open to re-recording the track, noting that her voice on the original sounds \u201cyoung.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI need to redo it,\u201d she said. \u201cI should recut it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Emilia P\u00e9rez<\/em> star also opened up about the song\u2019s empowering message and revealed that she once teared up while hearing it on the radio during a trip abroad.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI was like, \u2018Why the f\u2014k am I tearing up to my own song?’\u201d she said. \u201cBut it was because it was the little me who was there saying these really powerful messages that I still need to hear.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tElsewhere in the interview, the Rare Beauty founder reminisced about how she first bonded<\/a> with longtime friend Taylor Swift<\/a> nearly two decades ago \u2014 after both experienced breakups with the Jonas Brothers.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cShe and I like to say the best thing we got out of those relationships was each other,\u201d Gomez told Shane. \u201cWe became best friends, bonded over the breakup, as girls do. Then we just stuck around for all the ups and downs that came after, and here we are now 16 years later.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tMost recently, the Wizards of Waverly Place<\/em> alum dropped a joint album with fianc\u00e9 Benny Blanco<\/a>, I Said I Love You First<\/em>, which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 albums chart in May.<\/p>\n
