The Smiths<\/strong>\u2018 Mike Joyce<\/strong> is releasing a memoir, The Drums<\/strong>, through New Modern on November 6.<\/p>\n

Says Joyce, \u201cI\u2019ve been asked numerous times, \u2018What was it like being in The Smiths?\u2019 That\u2019s one hell of a question to answer! On most occasions, my answer\u2019s been, \u2018Have you got a couple of days to spare?\u2019 It felt like going into any detail to explain what it was really like would be impossible. The only way it seems to do that would be to commit to paper. It\u2019s been quite a journey going back forty years to re-live some of the experiences encountered during my time with the band. I hope readers feel I\u2019ve answered\u00a0that question.\u201d<\/p>\n
