\n\tCamila Cabello<\/a> surprised fans with a piano-ballad rendition of \u201cTorn,\u201d the single that became Natalie Imbruglia\u2019s breakthrough hit on U.S. radio in 1998, at a pair of shows in Australia this week (Aug. 27 and 30).<\/p>\n

\n\tMelbourne and Sydney, two of the final stops on Cabello\u2019s Yours, C Tour \u2014 the C,XOXO<\/em> singer has a Sept. 14 concert slated for S\u00e3o Paulo, Brazil \u2014 were a fitting setting to cover \u201cTorn,\u201d recorded by the Australian-born Imbruglia for her 1997 debut studio album, Left of the Middle<\/em>. Seated at the piano at both gigs, Cabello channeled the sincerity of Imbruglia\u2019s vocal performance on \u201cTorn, and on Saturday night shared a video of one of her performances on X.<\/p>\n

\n\tImbruglia\u2019s \u201cTorn\u201d soared to No. 1 on a trio of Billboard<\/em> charts (Radio Songs, Pop Airplay and Adult Pop Airplay) in 1998, and peaked at No. 42 on the Hot 100. She was nominated for a Grammy for best female pop vocal performance for \u201cTorn,\u201d but ultimately lost to Celine Dion and her inescapable \u201cMy Heart Will Go On.\u201d Though Imbruglia\u2019s take on \u201cTorn\u201d is the one most pop fans know, it was actually a cover for her, too \u2014 as the song was first released by the band Ednaswap in 1995.<\/p>\n

\n\tImbruglia\u2019s released a total of six albums throughout her career, with 2021\u2019s Firebird<\/em> being her most recent. She performed under the guise of \u201cBluebell\u201d on The Masked Singer<\/em><\/a> last year.<\/p>\n
