The latter is due Sept. 19 from Interscope, with the third film in the\u00a0<em>TRON<\/em>\u00a0franchise hitting theaters on Oct. 10.<\/p>\n<p>Last night (Sept. 2) at Brooklyn, N.Y.\u2019s Barclays Center, fans got an early glimpse at the \u201cAlive\u201d video on screens inside the venue and at subway stations outside. The propulsive track burbles with dance floor menace and the revving sound of the futuristic motorcycles frequently seen in\u00a0<em>TRON<\/em>\u2018s in-film racing sequences. It\u2019s not an atonal, punishing score, but we spent a lot of time thinking about the undertones of what\u2019s happening in the story. The concept of artificial life infused with feelings and emotions and a sense of questioning their purpose and their replaceability, their lack of soul, in some ways. We kind of riffed on that.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<lite-youtube videoid=\"SnMyroAH0rg\" style=\"bottom: 0; height: 100%; left: 0; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; width: 100%; max-width:100%;\"><\/lite-youtube>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>The movie stars Jared Leto, Jeff Bridges, Greta Lee and Evan Peters in the follow-up to 2010\u2019s\u00a0<em>Tron: Legacy<\/em>, itself a long-in-the-works sequel to the classic 1982 original film. Daft Punk\u2019s score for\u00a0<em>Tron: Legacy<\/em>\u00a0was a massive hit, reaching No. 4 on the\u00a0<em>Billboard\u00a0<\/em>200 and selling more than a million copies in the United States, according to the Recording Industry Association of America. Wendy Carlos penned the score for the original movie.<\/p>\n<p>Nine Inch Nails will be on the road through a Sept. 18-19 tour finale at Los Angeles\u2019 Kia Forum.
