\n\tJessie J<\/a>\u2018s two-year-old son got to see his mom perform live for the first time on Saturday (Sept. 6). The singer returned to the stage, and brought Sky along, at BBC Radio 2 in the Park in Essex, England, after undergoing her first round of surgery to treat breast cancer over the summer; she\u2019ll have a second surgery in the fall, a procedure she says is \u201cnothing too serious\u201d but conflicts with her now-postponed fall tour.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cSome of you may know, some of you may not know, but I had breast cancer surgery 11 weeks ago today,\u201d Jessie J told the crowd at Saturday\u2019s concert in Chelmsford, Essex, the Daily Mail<\/a><\/em> reports.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cAnd the last show I did, I had no idea what was gonna happen, and I\u2019m still very much in the recovery process,\u201d she said. \u201cBut I\u2019m definitely not ready for Babins. I mean, I am, but my doctors are like, \u2018Calm down, girl.\u2019 Do you know what I mean, you can take the girl out of Essex, put her back in to Essex.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cBut I\u2019m just so grateful to be here,\u201d said the singer. \u201cYou have no idea how grateful I am to see so many of you singing along after all these years. It truly feels like I\u2019m a little kid. Still doing what I love.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd another special thing that\u2019s happening today is that my son is seeing me sing on stage for the first time,\u201d she added, according to the Daily Mail<\/em>. Headphones on to protect his ears, two-year-old Sky even got to go up to the mic to say hello and sing \u201cHappy Birthday\u201d to anyone in the crowd who happened to be celebrating a birthday, fan video footage from the concert shows<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tAhead of her first surgery, Jessie J revealed in June that she\u2019d received an \u201cearly breast cancer\u201d diagnosis back in April. <\/p>\n

\n\tSix weeks after surgery, she\u00a0returned to the hospital\u00a0<\/a>with symptoms that turned out to be the result of an infection. In July, she underwent tests that showed the cancer had not spread and shared an emotional message<\/a> thanking her fans for their prayers and positive energy. <\/p>\n

\n\tAs part of her performance on Saturday, Jessie J performed new song \u201cLiving My Best Life\u201d and explained the story behind the track.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI was diagnosed literally two weeks before this song was released,\u201d she said. \u201cEveryone said, \u2018Let\u2019s stop, let\u2019s just put everything on hold,\u2019 and I said, \u2018That\u2019s not what life\u2019s about.’\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cLife is about standing in the storm but holding up your umbrella and just keep moving forward,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd music, I don\u2019t know about you guys, but for me, music is a healer. Music is the thing that keeps me wanting to wake up in the morning and just makes me excited about life. And I\u2019m grateful that I can make music that can give other people something that they might need on a hard day or a good day. So this song is called \u2018Living My Best Life,\u2019 and that is what I\u2019m doing every single damn day. \u2018Cause we never know when our last day will be. So soak this up, hug the people you love hard.\u201d<\/p>\n
