Originally recorded on April 25, 1962 for the <strong>Freewheelin\u2019 Bob Dylan<\/strong> sessions, it was later dropped from the album\u2019s final tracklisting.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"youtube-embed\" data-video_id=\"PWEhn0aF8RM\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Bob Dylan - Rocks And Gravel (Solid Road) (Official Audio)\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/PWEhn0aF8RM?feature=oembed&amp;enablejsapi=1\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>As per the title, <strong>Through The Open Window<\/strong> covers Dylan\u2019s emergence as a songwriter and performer, from Minnesota\u00a0to the Greenwich Village in the early 1960s.<\/p>\n<p>The set includes rare Columbia Records outtakes, recordings made at club dates, in tiny informal gatherings, in friends\u2019 apartments and at jam sessions.<\/p>\n<p>It also features the unreleased, complete recordings of Dylan\u2019s show at Carnegie Hall on October 26, 1963, mixed from the original tapes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Through The Open Window<\/strong> is released on an 8xCD Deluxe set of 139 tracks \u2013 including 48 never-before released performances, as well as 38 super-rare cuts \u2013 plus a hardcover book with extensive liner notes by Sean Wilentz and over\u00a0100\u00a0rare photographs.
