{"id":5795,"date":"2025-10-08T16:24:29","date_gmt":"2025-10-08T16:24:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/musictechohio.online\/site\/jeff-bezos-ai-bubble-good-eliminate-weak\/"},"modified":"2025-10-08T16:24:29","modified_gmt":"2025-10-08T16:24:29","slug":"jeff-bezos-ai-bubble-good-eliminate-weak","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/musictechohio.online\/site\/jeff-bezos-ai-bubble-good-eliminate-weak\/","title":{"rendered":"Jeff Bezos Says AI Bubble Is Good Because It Will Eliminate the Weak"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph skip\">Many <a href=\"https:\/\/futurism.com\/artificial-intelligence\/sam-altman-warns-ai-industry-implosion\">investors<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/futurism.com\/artificial-intelligence\/bank-of-england-impending-ai-disaster\">financial experts<\/a> are <a href=\"https:\/\/futurism.com\/data-centers-financial-bubble\">concerned<\/a> that a looming AI bubble could wreak havoc on the economy  \u2014 but Amazon founder Jeff Bezos can\u2019t wait for it to burst.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph skip\">During a tech conference in Italy last week, Bezos conceded that the AI industry is in a \u201ckind of industrial bubble,\u201d as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2025\/10\/03\/jeff-bezos-ai-in-an-industrial-bubble-but-society-to-benefit.html\" rel=\"nofollow\"><em>CNBC<\/em> reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph skip\">Besides companies\u2019 valuations becoming \u201cdisconnected from the fundamentals\u201d of a business, Bezos argued that \u201cpeople get very excited like they are today about artificial intelligence.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph skip\">But to the fourth-richest person in the world, a collapse of the AI industry could eventually be a positive development \u2014 because, in his mind, it could eliminate the weak from the market.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph skip\">\u201cThe [bubbles] that are industrial are not nearly as bad, it can even be good, because when the dust settles and you see who are the winners, societies benefit from those inventions,\u201d he argued. \u201cThat is what is going to happen here, too.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph skip\">\u201cThis is real, the benefits to society from AI are going to be gigantic,\u201d the billionaire said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph skip\">Bezos\u2019 comments highlight tech leaders\u2019 and investors\u2019 continued insistence that the tech will eventually \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/a16z.com\/how-ai-will-usher-in-an-era-of-abundance\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">usher in an era of abundance<\/a>\u201d marked by a boost in productivity, cheaper goods, and people living healthier lives. That kind of optimism has played a key part in an industry that has poured astronomical amounts of resources into a tech that still has a lot to prove.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph skip\">Experts have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/feds-kashkari-says-hes-skeptical-ai-is-replacing-workers-it-may-push-up-rates-2025-10-07\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">become increasingly skeptical<\/a> of the industry\u2019s claims, though, as it becomes clear that AI <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2025\/10\/01\/business\/ai-impact-us-jobs-study-intl#:~:text=One%20reason%20could%20be%20that,in%20the%20Harvard%20Business%20Review.\" rel=\"nofollow\">isn\u2019t yet ready to replace workers<\/a>. A <a href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/2025\/08\/18\/mit-report-95-percent-generative-ai-pilots-at-companies-failing-cfo\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">landmark MIT study<\/a> earlier this year found that a whopping 95 percent of generative AI pilots at companies are falling flat, failing to drive rapid revenue growth.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph skip\">Bezos isn\u2019t alone in arguing that an AI bubble could ultimately be a positive development.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph skip\">\u201cWhen bubbles happen, smart people get overexcited about a kernel of truth,\u201d OpenAI CEO Sam Altman <a href=\"https:\/\/futurism.com\/sam-altman-admits-ai-bubble\">told a small group of reporters<\/a> in August,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/ai-artificial-intelligence\/759965\/sam-altman-openai-ai-bubble-interview\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">as quoted by\u00a0<em>The Verge<\/em><\/a>. \u201cAre we in a phase where investors as a whole are overexcited about AI?
