The musician suffered a brain injury after falling in his recording studio last month and had been breathing with the aid of a ventilator in recent days.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur hearts are broken,\u201d wrote <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/genesimmons\/status\/1978970732836036970?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1978970732836036970%7Ctwgr%5E6ad8ff65959536b1a318cd8630df11f7bcc7999c%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&amp;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fultimateclassicrock.com%2Face-frehley-tributes%2F\" target=\"_blank\">KISS bandmate Gene Simmons<\/a>. \u201cAce has passed on. No one can touch Ace\u2019s legacy. I know he loved the fans. He told me many times. Sadder still, Ace didn\u2019t live long enough to be honored at the Kennedy Center Honors event in December. Ace was the eternal rock soldier. My wife and I were with him to the end as well. I love you my brother. My love and prayers go out to Jeanette, Monique, Charlie and Nancy and all of Ace\u2019s extended family, bandmates, fans and friends. May the Lord comfort you at this difficult time. As a founding member of the rock group KISS and in Ace\u2019s solo career, Ace influenced and touch the hearts of millions of people. His legacy will live on in the music industry and in the hearts of the KISS Army. At this time I ask all of you to please be respectful to Ace\u2019s family and allow them to grieve privately. To the KISS Army and Ace\u2019s Rock Soldiers, my heart is with you all\u2026 Broken.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll my friends have spent untold hours talking about KISS and buying KISS stuff,\u201d said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DP4xCC9DuL8\/?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\">Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready<\/a>. \u201cAce was a hero of mine and also I would consider a friend. I studied his solos endlessly over the years. Just listen to \u2018Alive\u2019 \u2014 I used his solo from \u2018She\u2019 as a template. Ace jammed on \u2018Black Diamond\u2019 with Pearl Jam at Madison Square Garden \u2014 a dream come true for me. I would not have picked up a guitar without Ace and KISS\u2019s influence.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAbsolutely stunned and saddened by the news Ace Frehley has tragically passed away,\u201d said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/rushtheband\/posts\/1361994971957432?ref=embed_post\" target=\"_blank\">Rush\u2019s Geddy Lee<\/a>. \u201cBack in 1974, as the opening act for KISS, Alex, Neil [Peart] and myself spent many a night hanging out together in his hotel room after shows, doing whatever nonsense we could think of, just to make him break out his inimitable and infectious laugh. He was an undeniable character and an authentic rock star. RIP Ace.
