The Damned<\/strong> have announced a new album, Not Like Everybody Else<\/strong>, dedicated to the memory of\u00a0Brian James<\/strong><\/a>, the band\u2019s founding guitarist and chief song-writer, who died on March 6, 2025.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The Damned<\/strong> have announced a new album, Not Like Everybody Else<\/strong>, dedicated to the memory of\u00a0Brian James<\/strong><\/a>, the band\u2019s founding guitarist and chief song-writer, who died on March 6, 2025.<\/p>\n

Recorded in five days at Revolver Studio, Los Angeles, the album features Dave Vanian\u00a0<\/strong>on vocals,\u00a0Captain Sensible\u00a0<\/strong>on guitar,\u00a0Rat Scabies <\/strong>on drums, Paul Gray<\/strong>\u00a0on bass and joined by longtime keyboardist\u00a0Monty Oxymoron<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The sessions marked the first time in 40 years that Scabies has returned to the studio with the band.<\/p>\n

Say the band, \u201ceach tune has been chosen because they were by artists that had an impact on Brian\u2019s guitar playing and in turn his songwriting and in turn the Damned as a band.\u201d<\/p>\n

The first track released is R Dean Taylor\u2019s \u201cThere\u2019s A Ghost In My House<\/strong>\u201d, which arrived on October 30.<\/p>\n

Among the tracks, the band\u2019s cover of \u201cThe Last Time\u201d by\u00a0The Rolling Stones<\/strong>, featuring James\u00a0himself, taken from his\u00a0final London performances with The Damned, at Hammersmith Odeon, in October 2022.<\/p>\n

The album coincides with The Damned\u2019s 50th anniversary celebrations, which begin with a\u00a0one-off covers show\u00a0at\u00a0Albert Hall, Manchester on\u00a0January 28, 2026.<\/p>\n

The Damned will also play a special\u00a050th anniversary show at OVO Arena Wembley on\u00a0Saturday, April 11 2026.<\/p>\n
