\n\tSnoop Dogg<\/a> brought his legendary swagger to the 2026 Golden Globes<\/a> stage on Sunday night (Jan. 11), hitting the stage to present the first-ever best podcast award. And in the process, he even gave the 82-year-old awards show a new nickname.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cNeed y\u2019all to loosen up a little bit. This is the Double G\u2019s \u2014 the Double G\u2019s is the Golden Globes,\u201d Snoop said after walking out to his 2004 three-week Billboard Hot 100<\/a> No. 1 hit \u201cDrop It Like It\u2019s Hot.\u201d \u201cAnd you\u2019re with the D-O-Double-G, so make sure you enjoy yourself. Don\u2019t be no stiff biff. Need you to move around a little bit.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIt seems that Snoop\u2019s nickname made an impression: When One Battle After Another <\/em>director Paul Thomas Anderson accepted the best screenplay award later in the night, he said, \u201cI got a Double G. Amazing.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tGetting back to the award at hand, Snoop shouted out the Globes for adding a best podcast category, adding, \u201cAnd shout-out to all the podcasters. You all are winners, but the real winner is\u2026,\u201d he said to a big laugh before announcing Good Hang With Amy Poehler<\/em> as the category\u2019s inaugural winner.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThis is exactly how I pictured it: Snoop giving me the award,\u201d Poehler quipped when she hit the stage. \u201cI don\u2019t know about awards shows, but when they get it right, it makes sense. Thank you so much for this.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAfter thanking everyone behind her show \u2014 which topped Armchair Expert With Dax Shepard, Call Her Daddy, The Mel Robbins Podcast, Smartless<\/em>\u00a0and NPR\u2019s Up First<\/em> to win best podcast \u2014 the Saturday Night Live<\/em> alum also thanked her competition (with one cheeky exception). \u201cI just want to say that I know I am new to this game. I have great respect for this form. I have great respect for all the people that I am nominated with. I\u2019m big fans of all of you \u2014 except for NPR. Just a bunch of celebs phoning it in. So try harder.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cBut this is an attempt to try to make a very rough and unkind world filled with a little bit more love and laughter, and laughing with people not at them, and we just have such a good time making it,\u201d Poehler added earnestly. \u201cThank you so much for letting us make more.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tPoehler wrapped up her speech by thanking her two sons Archie and Abel \u2014 whom she shares with ex-husband Will Arnett, who happens to co-host fellow nominee Smartless<\/em> alongside Jason Bateman and Sean Hayes \u2014 as well as her mom and dad. \u201cYou can watch the Patriots now,\u201d Poehler said, acknowledging New England\u2019s wild card playoff game against the Los Angeles Chargers, also airing on Sunday night.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
