{"id":8244,"date":"2026-01-22T15:00:00","date_gmt":"2026-01-22T15:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/musictechohio.online\/site\/war-child-help2-compilation\/"},"modified":"2026-01-22T15:00:00","modified_gmt":"2026-01-22T15:00:00","slug":"war-child-help2-compilation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/musictechohio.online\/site\/war-child-help2-compilation\/","title":{"rendered":"Arctic Monkeys, Depeche Mode Lead War Child Charity LP"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.spin.com\/files\/2022\/10\/SPIN_Cover_Story-Arctic_Monkeys-Hero_Image-7-scaled.jpg\" width=\"2560\" height=\"2048\" alt=\"\"><figcaption>Arctic Monkeys<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Arctic Monkeys, Depeche Mode, Damon Albarn, Wet Leg, Fontaines D.C. and Pulp are among the beloved U.K. artists contributing new songs to <em><a href=\"https:\/\/warchildrecs.ffm.to\/help2\" target=\"_blank\">HELP(2)<\/a><\/em>, a sequel of sorts to the original 1995 charity collection <em>HELP<\/em> that raised millions for War Child\u2019s efforts to aid children living in areas of conflict.<\/p>\n<p>Due March 6, the new project also boasts contributions from Olivia Rodrigo (covering the Magnetic Fields), Geese\u2019s Cameron Winter, Arooj Aftab and Beck, Arlo Parks, beabadoobee, Portishead\u2019s Beth Gibbons (covering the Velvet Underground), Big Thief, King Krule and Sampha. I\u2019m extremely proud of the results and of the efforts made by all involved. I can\u2019t wait for people to hear this very special record.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>HELP(2)<\/em> will be further supported by a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=ROf1j4iovCk\" target=\"_blank\">Jonathan Glazer-directed film<\/a> chronicling both the recording sessions and the lives of families living in war-torn countries such as Ukraine, Yemen and Sudan.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<lite-youtube videoid=\"6lkS-MCenXI\" style=\"bottom: 0; height: 100%; left: 0; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; width: 100%; max-width:100%;\"><\/lite-youtube>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>The original <em>HELP<\/em> was recorded in one day (Sept. 4, 1995) and brought together the leading lights of the U.K. music scene at the time, including Oasis, Paul McCartney, Radiohead, Massive Attack and Blur. Proceeds benefited War Child\u2019s efforts in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which were mired in fighting at the time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>HELP(2<\/em>) is more than an album. It\u2019s a powerful example of what can happen when the music industry comes together around a shared purpose,\u201d says War Child U.K.\u2019s head of music Rich Clarke. \u201cIt has united a diverse group of artists and creatives in support of War Child\u2019s vital work with children affected by the devastating impacts of war.
