To celebrate “Boys Don’t Cry” becoming the first of their tracks to hit one billion streams on Spotify, The Cure will reissue the 1986 “Boys Don’t Cry” mix digitally and on CD through Fiction\/Polydor on January 30.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

To celebrate \u201cBoys Don\u2019t Cry\u201d becoming the first of their tracks to hit one billion streams on Spotify, The Cure will reissue the 1986 \u201cBoys Don\u2019t Cry\u201d mix digitally and on CD through Fiction\/Polydor on January 30.<\/p>\n

Initially released as a standalone single in the summer of 1979, \u201cBoys Don\u2019t Cry\u201d became the title track of the US edition of the band\u2019s debut album, Three Imaginary Boys. <\/p>\n

Robert Smith re-recorded the vocal and remixed the backing track in 1986 to promote the best-of collection Staring At The Sea \u2013 The Singles (although the LP itself featured the original recording).<\/p>\n

For this reissue, \u201cBoys Don\u2019t Cry (New Voice \u2013 New Mix)\u201d \u2013 now retitled \u201cBoys Don\u2019t Cry (86 Mix)\u201d \u2013 has been remastered by Matt Colton, along with the 12\u201d mix and original B-Sides, \u201cPlastic Passion\u201d, \u201cPillbox Tales\u201d and \u201cDo The Hansa\u201d.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s the first time the 86 Mix has been available digitally. The EP will also be available on 7\u2033 and 12\u2033 from April 21. Pre-order here<\/a>. <\/p>\n
