David Bowie: You\u2019re Not Alone<\/em> is a new multimedia spectacle coming to Lightroom in London\u2019s King\u2019s Cross from April 22.<\/p>\n

Written and directed by Mark Grimmer \u2013 Creative Director for the V&A\u2019s David Bowie Is exhibition \u2013 and Tom Wexler, You\u2019re Not Alone<\/em> will include a mixture of iconic, rarely seen and never-before-exhibited material, selected from thousands of hours of film in the vaults of the David Bowie Archive in New York.<\/p>\n

This includes unseen extended footage of David Bowie performing \u201cHeroes\u201d at Earl\u2019s Court in 1978, pieced back together from new camera angles found on film reels discovered in the archives. There will also be a new edit of Bowie\u2019s final performance as Ziggy Stardust at London\u2019s Hammersmith Odeon in 1973.<\/p>\n

\u201cThroughout his career, Bowie repeatedly resisted being figured as anything but human,\u201d says Mark Grimmer. \u201cRather than undermining his mystique, we designed a show to celebrate Bowie as a champion of human creativity \u2013 focusing on the message he expressed time and again: that art, in all its forms, is our best hope for understanding what it means to be alive.\u201d<\/p>\n
