\n\tOlivia Dean<\/a>, Rosal\u00eda<\/a> and more artists made history at the 2026 BRIT Awards, which were presented on Saturday (Feb. 28) at the Co-op Live arena in Manchester, England. Dean won four awards on the night: British artist of the year, Mastercard album of the year, song of the year (in tandem with Sam Fender<\/a>) and best pop act. Fender also picked up a second award: alternative\/rock act.<\/p>\n

\n\tWomen made a strong showing, maintaining their years-long dominance in several key categories. The gender-neutral award for British artist of the year has been won by a female solo artist in four of the five years it has been presented. Adele, RAYE and Charli XCX preceded Dean to victory in this category. Harry Styles is the only male artist to win in this category.<\/p>\n

\n\tDean\u2019s The Art of Loving<\/em> also won album of the year, marking the third year in a row that a female solo artist has won in this category. RAYE\u2019s My 21st Century Blues<\/em> won two years ago. Charli XCX\u2019s Brat<\/em> won last year. This marks the first time in BRITs history that women have won three years running in this marquee category.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cAPT.\u201d by Ros\u00e9<\/a> and Bruno Mars<\/a> won international song of the year, the fifth consecutive victory in this category by a female solo artist (one working in tandem with a top male star, in this case). \u201cAPT.\u201d follows Olivia Rodrigo\u2019s \u201cGood 4 U,\u201d Beyonc\u00e9\u2019s \u201cBreak My Soul,\u201d Miley Cyrus\u2019 \u201cFlowers\u201d and Chappell Roan\u2019s \u201cGood Luck, Babe.\u201d<\/p>\n
