\n\tThe 32nd Actor Awards, formerly known as the Screen Actors Guild Awards, are going down on Sunday (March 1) at the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall in Los Angeles. For the third year in a row, the ceremony is streaming live on Netflix, starting at 8 p.m. ET \/ 5 p.m. PT. Actress Kristen Bell<\/a> is hosting the ceremony for the third time, after previously hosting in 2018 and 2025.<\/p>\n

\n\tThis is the first ceremony in which the awards are named the Actor Awards. The name change was announced on Nov. 14.<\/p>\n

\n\tThis year\u2019s show is being held during final-round voting for the Oscars (Feb. 26 to March 5). How good of a predictor are the Actor Awards when it comes to the Oscars? Good, but hardly definitive. In the last 10 years, five winners of the Actor Award for outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture have gone on to win the Oscar for best picture: Spotlight, Parasite, CODA, Everything Everywhere All at Once <\/em>and Oppenheimer<\/em>. But five did not go on to win the Oscar: Hidden Figures, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri, Black Panther, The Trial of the Chicago 7 <\/em>and Conclave<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\n\tLast year, the two supporting actor winners at the Image Awards (Kieran Culkin for A Real Pain<\/em> and Zoe Salda\u00f1a <\/a>for Emilia P\u00e9rez<\/em>) went on to win Oscars, but the two leading actor winners (Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet<\/a>\u00a0for\u00a0A Complete Unknown <\/em>and Demi Moore<\/a> for The Substance<\/em>) did not.<\/p>\n

\n\tCatherine O\u2019Hara, who died on Jan. 30 at age 71, won female actor in a comedy series for her role in The Studio<\/em>. All but two of the winners were present to accept their awards. Missing were Sean Penn, who won male actor in a supporting role for One Battle After Another<\/em>, and 16-year-old Owen Cooper, who won male actor in a television movie or limited series for Adolescence<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\n\tBell sang a special-material number, \u201cStage Name,\u201d to open the show. The show also spotlighted music cues in various segments. Sixpence None the Richer\u2019s 1999 hit \u201cKiss Me\u201d and Dionne Warwick\u2019s 1967 classic \u201cI Say a Little Prayer\u201d brightened a segment on rom-coms. The Ramones\u2019 1978 classic \u201cI Want to Be Sedated\u201d soundtracked a segment on medical shows.<\/p>\n

\n\tHarrison Ford received the SAG-AFTRA Life Achievement Award. Woody Harrelson was the presenter.<\/p>\n
