{"id":9353,"date":"2026-03-11T18:00:06","date_gmt":"2026-03-11T18:00:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/musictechohio.online\/site\/ai-tilly-norwood-worst-music-video\/"},"modified":"2026-03-11T18:00:06","modified_gmt":"2026-03-11T18:00:06","slug":"ai-tilly-norwood-worst-music-video","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/musictechohio.online\/site\/ai-tilly-norwood-worst-music-video\/","title":{"rendered":"The AI-Generated Tilly Norwood Just Dropped the Worst Music Video We\u2019ve Ever Seen"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph skip\">Late last year, video production company Particle6 <a href=\"https:\/\/futurism.com\/artificial-intelligence\/creator-ai-actress-responds-backlash\">triggered near-universal backlash<\/a> when it unveiled its so-called \u201cAI actress\u201d dubbed \u201cTilly Norwood.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph skip\">The timing of the announcement couldn\u2019t have been worse, as some of the biggest names in Hollywood had been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=liob7Acq_1c\" rel=\"nofollow\">publicly<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/futurism.com\/artificial-intelligence\/guillermo-del-toro-ai-rather-die\">and strongly<\/a> denouncing the use of AI in filmmaking. The innocent-faced avatar, which <em>The Verge <\/em>previously lambasted as a \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/ai-artificial-intelligence\/791680\/tilly-norwood-particle6-xicoia-eline-van-der-velden\">gen AI psyop<\/a>,\u201d perfectly played into the fears of those <a href=\"https:\/\/futurism.com\/studios-ai-replace-background-actors\">worried about being replaced by the tech<\/a>, particularly among <a href=\"https:\/\/futurism.com\/voice-actors-furious-finals-ai\">voice actors<\/a> and on-screen performers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph skip\">Now, in yet another astonishing failure to read the room, Particle6 teamed up with London-based AI talent studio Xicoia Studios for a debut single and accompanying video for Norwood, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/news\/general-news\/ai-actor-tilly-norwood-song-music-take-the-lead-1236526080\/\">per <em>The Hollywood Reporter<\/em><\/a>. You might wonder if the music video redeemed the project; instead, it\u2019s one of the dingiest and depressing things we\u2019ve ever seen.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph skip\">The single, titled \u201cTake the Lead,\u201d was \u2014 we\u2019re not making this up \u2014 inspired by an essay Particle6 and Xicoia Studios CEO Eline van der Velden wrote about the extensive backlash to AI.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph skip\">The video itself is an amalgamation of uninspired and cringe-inducing AI slop. It shows the Norwood persona singing passionately alongside flamingos and touching on almost every \u201crise to fame\u201d clich\u00e9 in the book as the starlet transforms into the thinly-veiled embodiment of AI that wins over every heart and is celebrated by all.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph skip\">In other words, it\u2019s a fever dream of an executive who\u2019s far too deep down the rabbit hole, where\u00a0she\u2019s desperately trying to convince the public of the tech\u2019s merits.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph skip\">\u201cWhen they talk about me, they don\u2019t see,\u201d the avatar sings in a highly processed and uncanny-sounding voice, in lyrics that sound suspiciously like they were also generated by AI. \u201cThe human spark, the creativity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph skip\">\u201cBehind the code, behind the light, I\u2019m just a tool, but I\u2019ve got life,\u201d the avatar adds. \u201cI\u2019m not a puppet, I\u2019m the star.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph skip\">\u201cIt\u2019s the next evolution, can\u2019t you see?\u201d the persona begged in the song\u2019s chorus, which is repeated a stomach-churning three times. \u201cAI\u2019s not the enemy, it\u2019s the key.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph skip\">Particle6 says it used performance capture to record van der Velden\u2019s \u201cacting\u201d performance.
