{"id":9483,"date":"2026-03-16T19:01:00","date_gmt":"2026-03-16T19:01:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/musictechohio.online\/site\/ai-data-center-security-guards-robot-dogs\/"},"modified":"2026-03-16T19:01:00","modified_gmt":"2026-03-16T19:01:00","slug":"ai-data-center-security-guards-robot-dogs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/musictechohio.online\/site\/ai-data-center-security-guards-robot-dogs\/","title":{"rendered":"AI Data Center Security Guards Are Not Human"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph skip\">As AI companies continue to pour hundreds of billions of dollars into buildouts of data centers, they\u2019re looking for ways to keep their sprawling facilities secured around the clock \u2014 without having to pay a salary or manage shift changes multiple times a day (maximizing human employment <a href=\"https:\/\/futurism.com\/artificial-intelligence\/data-center-jobs-ohio\">is not a priority<\/a> in the AI data center business.)<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph skip\">As such, they\u2019re turning to robot security guards, as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/robot-dogs-quadruped-data-center-security-boston-dynamics-ghost-robotics-2026-3\"><em>Business Insider<\/em> reports<\/a>, especially Boston Dynamics\u2019 popular quadruped robot dog Spot. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph skip\">\u201cI was literally at a data center this week,\u201d senior director of product management Merry Frayne told the publication. \u201cWe\u2019ve seen a huge, huge uptick in interest from data centers in the last year, I\u2019d say, which is probably not surprising given the investment in that space.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph skip\">It may sound like a straightforward task, but keeping tabs on centers that can cover over <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2025\/10\/29\/amazon-opens-11-billion-ai-data-center-project-rainier-in-indiana.html\">an area of over 900 football fields<\/a> likely isn\u2019t simple.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph skip\">Spot is commonly being deployed to patrol perimeters, according to Frayne. Customers are also using them for site mapping, monitoring construction, and industrial inspection.
