{"id":9553,"date":"2026-03-19T13:00:00","date_gmt":"2026-03-19T13:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/musictechohio.online\/site\/failure-a-way-down-single\/"},"modified":"2026-03-19T13:00:00","modified_gmt":"2026-03-19T13:00:00","slug":"failure-a-way-down-single","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/musictechohio.online\/site\/failure-a-way-down-single\/","title":{"rendered":"Failure Finds A Different \u2018Way\u2019 On Latest Single"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.spinmagazine.com\/files\/2026\/03\/Failure-2.5.20264116_LindseyByrnes_edit-2_final5-scaled.jpg\" width=\"2560\" height=\"1707\" alt=\"\"><figcaption>(photo: Lindsey Byrnes)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Failure tips its hat in a goth-y direction on \u201cA Way Down,\u201d the second single from its upcoming album <em>Location Lost<\/em>. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spinmagazine.com\/2026\/02\/failure-new-album\/\" target=\"_blank\">As previously reported<\/a>, the set will be released April 24 on the band\u2019s own Failure Records imprint through band manager Blaze James\u2019 new Arduous Records label and Virgin Music Group.<\/p>\n<p>Group member Ken Andrews says \u201cA Way Down\u201d is \u201can homage to two bands who actually got me to pick up the guitar and try to write my own music: the Cure and Siouxsie &amp; the Banshees, specifically their early \u201980s periods with albums like <em>Juju<\/em> and <em>Pornography<\/em>. I was captured by the angular guitar approach and the unapologetic dark atmospheres that dripped off those records. Lyrically, \u2018A Way Down\u2019 is another study in miscommunication and the resulting loneliness it often brings.
