Robbins at his Baltimore-based Magpie Cage studios in a rapid seven-day session, <em>Cut a Silhouette<\/em> pulls from songs written everywhere from hotel rooms to soundchecks. First single \u201cCrater\u201d was co-written with My Chemical Romance\u2019s Frank Iero, while the album title was derived from Macaulay Culkin\u2019s interview Amazon Prime\u2019s recent John Candy documentary <em>I Like Me<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe said that when he met John Candy, he just entered your brain and cut a silhouette,\u201d\u00a0says Ward. \u201cLike, he just left an impression, is the way I see it. And when I heard him say that, I was like,  oh! That\u2019s what I want this record to be. I want it to leave an impression.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis feels like we\u2019re a fucking band again,\u201d he continues, referencing bassist <strong>Matt Miller<\/strong>\u00a0and drummer\u00a0<strong>Neil Hennessy<\/strong>. \u201cAll three of us are in a room, we\u2019re all writing together, we\u2019re listening to each other. This is now a constructive creative process, and it\u2019s now the end of this era.
