On <em>Compass Rosa (Expanded Edition)<\/em>, that instinct pays off in a big way.<\/p>\n<p>Announced today and due April 24 via Paris label s76, the bolstered version of her 2025 album adds three new tracks, one of which, \u201cMy Light,\u201d sports longtime collaborator Sufjan Stevens. The first preview, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/alterk.lnk.to\/Ladies\" target=\"_blank\">Ladies<\/a>,\u201d is a tribute to resilience, with Tindle calling it \u201can ode to the all-knowing women\u201d in her life.<\/p>\n<p>More from Spin:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.spinmagazine.com\/2025\/12\/abrams-dessner-vernon-benefit-song\/\">Abrams, Dessner, Vernon Share New Benefit Single<\/a>\n\t\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.spinmagazine.com\/2025\/12\/golden-globe-nominations\/\">Nick Cave, Bryce Dessner Score Golden Globe Noms<\/a>\n\t\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.spinmagazine.com\/2025\/07\/25-songs-that-still-believe-in-peace\/\">25 Songs That Still Believe in Peace<\/a>\n\t\t<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Stevens previously appeared on the album\u2019s standout duet \u201cHeaven Thunder.\u201d Speaking of his contribution to \u201cMy Light,\u201d Tindle says, <em>\u201c<\/em>the song is about trying to keep the light of those we have lost in our lives \u2026 right behind the sun \u2026 as a direction, as a compass.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The album was born out of a writing retreat between Tindle and her husband, the National\u2019s Bryce Dessner, whose compositional fingerprints are all over the project. His string arrangements, performed by the Quatuor Za\u00efde,  provide a chamber-folk backbone, while National multi-instrumentalist Ben Lanz adds subtle rhythmic and synth textures.<\/p>\n<p>Outside the studio, that extended National family remains close, as Tindle\u2019s upcoming April 13 Paris headline show at Le Trianon is set to feature guest appearances from vocalist Matt Berninger, alongside Bryce and Aaron Dessner.
